Cape Town Proposal - John and Mea

Proposals are still the shoots that make me the most nervous. There are always variables and I’m scared I’ll miss the moment. Especially on these sessions where I need to hide and make sure I’m still catching the moment without being a creeper!

Mea is originally from Cape Town but she’s been living in San Francisco with here family since she was a teenager. She met John there in High School and they’ve been sweethearts ever since. Her Mom got in touch with me to capture this moment as a surprise for her and we decided on Maiden’s Cove as the perfect backdrop. I managed to hide by my car and use a long lens to shoot their proposal with a bunch of onlookers cheering them on when John dropped to his knee. We had a fun mini engagement shoot afterwards to celebrate.
