Trevor & Tanya's Market Themed Wedding - Cape Town
Market-Themed Wedding
When Trevor first contacted me, I was intrigued with their wedding concept. They wanted something totally different. What they came up with was a ‘market style’ wedding. Tanya created the concept and her ideas come to life were so much fun.
Tanya’s dress reflected her style with a beautiful detailed back piece. The skirt of the dress faded into a beautiful shade of pink.
They were first married at their parents house before the wedding ceremony at Cafe Roux. When Trevor turned and saw his beautiful bride, there weren’t many dry eyes. This wedding was filled with so much love and so many laughs.
Trevor and Tanya wanted something less traditional for their wedding photos so we headed to the Hout Bay Market. We (my second shooter Jenna Meyer) followed them around on their tour of the market. The vendors at the stalls all jumped on board and the crowd loved being involved in the images.
The market theme continued at the wedding reception where, after the ceremony, guests were ushered under the tent where they were encouraged to sit anywhere. The wedding dinner consisted of a few ‘stalls’ set up with a variety of market style foods to choose from. After the speeches, the newly weds shared a ‘cupcake in a jar’.
